Azure Data Engineer

Responsibilities
- Design scalable, efficient data architectures using Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse, and related Azure services.
- Build and maintain ETL and ELT pipelines that move data from source systems into data warehouses and data lakes using Azure Data Factory or Synapse Pipelines.
- Integrate data from multiple sources while maintaining data quality, consistency, and traceability.
- Manage and optimize data storage for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
- Implement appropriate data security controls and support compliance with relevant data protection requirements.
- Monitor data systems, investigate performance issues, and resolve errors and alarms.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including processes, designs, mappings, and support procedures.
- Define maintenance procedures, monitor system health, and gather the operational statistics needed to keep data services dependable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Three or more years of hands-on experience designing, supporting, developing, and delivering data management, modeling, and analytics solutions.
- Two or more years of experience with Azure Data Lake and SQL Data Warehouse or Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Two or more years of experience with Azure Data Factory and DevOps practices.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, or another language used for data processing.
- Experience profiling source systems and defining source-to-target mappings and transformations.
- Experience troubleshooting data migration and transformation issues in Microsoft Azure.
- A strong understanding of database maintenance, administration, metadata management, software delivery practices, testing, and production support.
- Ability to translate requirements into specifications and rapidly build proof-of-concept solutions.
- Knowledge of agile methods such as Kanban; Power BI development and SAP HANA modeling experience are helpful.

Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements and design comprehensive reporting and dashboard solutions using Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, and other relevant technologies.
- Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to integrate data from multiple sources while maintaining quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to clarify needs, gather requirements, provide insight, and ensure each solution supports its intended outcome.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and self-service users.
- Monitor and improve BI solution performance, including data retrieval, visualization speed, and user experience.
- Create and maintain documentation for BI solutions, including architecture diagrams, data models, and user guides.
- Conduct end-user training and provide ongoing support for BI tools and solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in business intelligence and data analytics, with an emphasis on solution design and architecture.
- Proficiency in Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud, SQL, and data modeling; experience with additional BI tools is helpful.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and collaborating with functional and technical team members.
